Director

Greg Bartlett is an experienced veterinarian, business manager and coach, having worked for more than 20 years in the industry.

Greg worked in the UK for more than six years, during which time he worked as a locum and in a private referral practice. Other overseas posts included managing a central London emergency clinic and a two year teaching position as the Head of the Small Animal Department at Camden, Sydney University in Australia.

Upon his return to New Zealand Greg successfully owned and managed a multi-site veterinary practice with 35 staff for nearly 10 years.  Over this time he developed effective financial, budgeting, people management and leadership skills.

When the business was sold he spent two years as the National Clinical Manager for Pet Doctors NZ, a role in which he was responsible for the strategic planning, development and implementation of many of the current operational systems and clinical standards.

Greg was then promoted to the National Development Manager to focus on the execution of clinical standards, operational efficiencies and veterinary performance management across 26 clinics. In this role, he was also involved in coaching and mentoring clinic managers, veterinarians, and clinical leaders, and overseeing special clinic transformation projects in selected clinics.

Having worked with over 50 different veterinary clinics and healthcare teams supporting their performance, Greg decided to utilise his wealth of experience and passion for coaching.  Greg established The Vet Coach in 2014 to provide independent professional support to people in the veterinary industry. He truly believes in unlocking peoples potential to realise their own performance and be the best that they can be. His vision is for veterinary business to become more successful by growing the people responsible through coaching and mentoring and for changes to remain sustainable so the benefit and value can be realised.

Throughout his career, Greg’s proven communication methods, combined with his expertise in management systems, veterinary performance, preventative healthcare programs, organisational development, operational systems and natural leadership have driven profitability for a number of veterinary businesses.

Outside of work Greg enjoys spending time with his family and friends, staying fit, being at the beach, fishing, diving, kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing, playing the guitar and cooking.
